This is derived from @xwhitebeard's original "Change the function of /suicide" thread
While I didn't agree with changing the function of a core essentials command, I do think we could put something good to use with his suggestion. Instead of having /suicide print out numbers for the suicidal hotline, if a player sends a chat message that contains the keywords "i", "commit" and "suicide", a message can be sent in chat for that specific player giving them some suicide hotline numbers. I don't really see what the problem with this would be.

do you mean even if the keywords are on their own? if so then if someone says 'i like potatoes' then it would show up about suicide, so i hope this only means only those three words in one sentence
vouch anyway

You might aswell just have "commit" and "suicide" and maybe the phrase "kill myself", simply because people could just say "I'm gonna commit suicide", which doesn't have an "I" in it, and if no admins are online, they can't manually get the hotlines either.

Well we'd have to look into all possible combinations of sucide talk.

Well we'd have to look into all possible combinations of sucide talk. The problem is, there is a lot of combinations. There's other languages. There's countless ways people could say they could kill themselves, including simply the word suicide, cut, slice, slit wrist. There's way too many combinations.

I don’t think it’s feasible. That’s why servers have admins, to manually keep that stuff in check. Word filters have always been unreliable.

Unfortunately without being able to do some sort of natural language processing it would be pretty hard to get it remotely accurate. Keyword hits are pretty unreliable I've found and often don't work in the way you'd want them to.
My 2 cent is I like the idea, but tbh I'd /gtfo them with a message with online resources suggesting they should seek professional advise as the server is not the place to seek such advise.

I object to this specific way of doing it because chat filtering like this tends to be problematic. Wild's idea makes more sense to me.

Yeah, as much as I think this idea has the right intentions I dont think it makes very much sense.
There's other bad things you can do sucu as suicide. Do we want to include messages for harming other people, depression, anxiety, bullying, hard drugs, ect.. the list really goes on and if your reasoning is "well if it can help atleast one person then its worth it" then we should add messages for all these examples

no, automation is not a good way for things like this to happen, leave it to actual people to direct others to these hotlines, adding a listener like that is pointless and will cause way more problems then it will solve

Denied, but close. If you feel like you want to reintroduce the idea then you may in the future.
