no, this negates the whole entire point of the zero tolerance policy, and the harassment policy, Hard Object I agree with this. It just removes the point of it in the first place. The entire reason the policy was introduced was to remove a gray area; what if someone said a racist/homophobic slur then claimed it was a joke? They can't be punished, even if their meaning was serious, because it was a "joke"? All this policy does is readd that gray area. Its a slippery slope from here, because from here we start allowing other slurs, and such. I'd much rather keep it "Zero tolerance" rather than "Zero apart from one word tolerance"

The old policy stated if it was a joke, we allowed it, which is a massive gray area. If we specify that as long is it is not in a derogatory context, then it is more specific and is a lot more obvious than "as long as it's not a joke"

The higher ups need to be held accountable then. It shouldn’t be that difficult to NOT be racist.

I Object. This suggestion removes the entire purpose of this policy. It wouldn't be "Zero Tolerance" if restrictions were removed from the policy and would re-introduce a grey area that was resolved with this policy.
