Whenever the server has a lag spike, it usually lasts several seconds or minutes. Some people think it's because of console doing /opal.

How would opping everyone cause lag spikes? theres lots of other things in the backround that are on the same length timer as the opall message, the opall msg is just the only clearly visible thing

I'd suggest looking into how often filesystem access is occurring and try to reduce it, especially if the server is not running on an SSD.

ugh this is why we need a deployment system amirite guys xd Yes, so that we can manage/configure our dependencies and do proper QA testing on our server infrastructure to avoid these problems. Why do you guys insist on pooh poohing actual ideas that would make the server a whole lot more professional and thus address server stability? The fact is, I can go back a year ago and find these types of stability threads, and you'll see the development intellectuals (not just Telesphoreo here) criticizing me and others for even bringing up a possibility of solution to the problem. Yet why are we still having these conversations? Somebody needs to get their head out of the sand and actually put some effort in, because the fact that I have to repeat myself just about every week on a brand new thread shows how god awful this situation has been. What's also hilarious is that you recommend upgrading to the latest version of Paper right after sarcastically downplaying the idea of a deployment system. Gee, now why don't we have an out of date version of Paper? Huh...

Can someone answer: How much RAM do we have for TF? How many plugins do we have for TF?
Because the more plugins we have, the more they are used and the majority of them are constantly used. I've witnessed lag spikes when I've changed skin, at the same time someone has probably done a massive worldedit (i mean, ops can do //limit -1 which can give us infinity blocks)

(i mean, ops can do //limit -1 which can give us infinity blocks) I thought admins can set a maximum limit? yeah but -1 is under 0 which means its infinity in MC for some reason if you make playercount -1 you can have unlimited players so in this case when we do -1 we can have unlimited access to everything WE.

This fact was already known but I thought that our custom version would disable that and instead use the admin set limit. If people are just able to do //limit -1, then why do we have the admin setting at all?

I litterly already said what was causing the issue, it's a small disk bottleneck that spikes every once and a while. The best solution from my experience is to just turn off the server for like 10 minutes to let the disks catch up, then start it back up
