That's sorta just part of playing on the server... The fact players could login as anyone without being banned has historically been a major selling point for the server. Assuming we still IP ban it shouldn't actually restrict a genuine player from still playing if they want to. Just don't see why we should encourage or even allow verification of an OP when there is simply no reason to do so... There used to be a big issue with OPs being impersonated and then the imposter griefing as them, I had this issue personally and I've heard other admins confirm they used to have this issue as well. It adds an extra layer of security and there is nothing wrong with it. I get the feeling you just want to uphold what you remember TF to be when you played but times have changed for the better. I think that's just part and parcel of playing on the server though... And yes, I do wan tot uphold how I remember TF, because to me, I recall those being a better time, the server was pretty much constantly busy and it felt like we had a lot more active a community, Often when I do login to the server there aren't that many players on and it's this sort of thing that I think discourages players from joining. Feels like we're not really going with the values of the server and that's why I'm against OP verification. It also means you end up with admins not knowing when to enforce verifications... I've had to argue with admins because they've demanded I verify because I don't login a lot, when I've never opted in to verify and hold no additional permissions in the server. It feels like we're adding a higher bar of entry than we should be that's all.

Verification is entirely optional and the admins you are referring to were most likely just trying to know that's you are actually who your name was because they recognize you from past experiences, it's not something regular OPs are asked to do and it's not even necessary for you to do it's more like a "oh shit wilds on, do you think it's the real one?" EDIT: Adding on to point 1, the fact the server may not be "constantly active" is likely due to the fact that Minecraft as a game is less popular, especially with smaller servers. Perhaps larger servers like hypixel etc might see an increase or not a huge change in playerbase but smaller servers will have seen a decline in activity simply due to people's interest in the game fading.

My point was at TF's peak before, 20-30 players was the constant... Minecraft is actually significantly more popular than it has ever been last time I saw because it's so cheap and able to do so much with it. My view stands, I don't agree with OP Verification, I think it takes away from what the server stands for, and you won't change my mind on that.

/speed either needs to be limited to like 5 or something or blocked, players are loading chunks in too quickly which can obviously lead to lag.
