For those not understanding this, which isn't bad because this is a confusing scenario, here is the link to his sanction.

While I see plenty of objections, I also don't see any evidence, although I suspect that there are threads in admin sections about this. I'm just confused because I expect a case in which an admin was both permbanned and forum banned to have some sort of public thread such as a permban request. Basically, it's hard to form an opinion on this when all of the information is inaccessible when it really shouldn't be in a case like this. You did not miss any related thread except the forum sanction request, for which we already have an open suggestion. Well also, this person is an admin and would have had access to the forum sanction request, which begs the question if he had been posting defenses on the request that we also cannot see which would be interesting to this case. In any case, it sounds very mafia-like for admins to be permbanning each other over "being annoying" or forum posts which have yet to be brought up in this thread other than posts that were already deleted and not shouldn't be subject to fucking permbanning somebody. Yet that assumes that the reason for permban he stated is correct, which for all I know is completely wrong, I have to go off of the only side of the story that I'm seeing here. Just saying that this entire process is entirely skewed and I smell the fragrance of corruption.

He had been removed for inactivity for 6 months when the forum sanction request was created. This is not a suspension. Anyway, I will move totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/66078/jwmphall to a public board until the public forum sanctions suggestion has been processed.

The ultimate reason why he was forum banned was because of powerposting - he knows it's not allowed and kept getting away with it because no one was taking action. The majority voted for a permanent ban so that is what I went with.
He didn't need a warning, I think I remember mibbzz or someone moderating his posts - and this wasn't just a one-time incident. There is no sincerity nor a sign of him taking responsibility for his actions, so therefore I object.

There is no sincerity nor a sign of him taking responsibility for his actions, so therefore I object. After reading the actual request thread, I found a few more issues with the ban. One big problem is that this forum sanction request was only open for a day. Considering the fact that the user was banned due to the votes of 3 senior admins, two of them not leaving any reasoning at all, I really don't think that was enough time for it to be open. The other issue, and honestly the main issue with this is double standards. In the past, users who power posted (multiple times) have either been tempbanned or just outright ignored. Honestly, permbanning jwmphall really makes the banning system here look bad (at least to me) because it shows there could have been some sort of prejudice factor Fuck that guy, I mean, I object against jwmphall that came into play here. People have done the exact same thing and faced less or no consequences, so why should he? And keep in mind this is on top of the other things I mentioned in my previous post.

People have done the exact same thing and faced less or no consequences, so why should he? And keep in mind this is on top of the other things I mentioned in my previous post. They didn't face consequences because no administrator took action - I've taken action plenty of times, I've warned Ashaz for doing it, I've banned IxGamer partly because of it as well. Just like applications, when I look at something like a forum ban request I take a look at seniority votes as well (though I don't take them into account as often but I did here). Just because people don't face consequences for something like this doesn't mean they should do it. People have powerposted, but the people that weren't punished for it were simply moderated. And I believe jwmphall was moderated several times as well. The fact that you are making a scenario where "other people got away with it so why shouldn't jwmphall" questions your logic. I'm sorry that other administrators didn't take action like I did. Fuck that guy, I mean, I object So zekurt isn't allowed to have an opinion? There wasn't a prejustice factor - he's objecting because he believes that jwmphall shouldn't be unbanned after the rules he broke. This is literally how every application and appeal works. In the past, users who power posted (multiple times) have either been tempbanned jwmphall knew this wasn't allowed and kept doing it continuously. Like I said above, this is one of the main reasons why I banned IxGamerXL, he kept doing this multiple times one, after he knew not to, and after continuous warnings.

Now looking at all of the information, I'm going to object to an immediate unban, but I also believe that permbanning the user in this instance was overkill and this should be reduced to a temporary ban, based upon both the votes in the original thread and what the original requester wanted.

Honestly, permbanning jwmphall really makes the banning system here look bad (at least to me) because it shows there could have been some sort of prejudice factor There's no prejudice. I have no opinion of jwmphall outside of the reasons he was permbanned. The things he did to warrant a permban, in my opinion, make him a massive prick, which is why I say fuck him. The server has nothing to gain by unbanning him.

Just because some people either don’t get caught or get off unfairly for a crime doesn’t mean it should be legal. First of all I would like to remind everyone that this is a civil discussion and not a "flame war," before that confusion arises. I mean nothing personally to anybody mentioned in my posts. In response to what Ivan and Darth said about the means admins use to punish power-posters, I would agree that some of the posts were simply moderated, along with jwmphall's. I agree with you in the fact that he shouldn't have done what he did. I am not trying to validate what he did, or what the other examples I provided as being just by saying they weren't punished. However, the issue lies in the fact that the actual penalty for what he did is flawed. I showed that by providing previous cases of power-posters who were not punished as jwmphall was. Criminals don't get caught sometimes, and get off unfairly sometimes. But there are still arguments going on over which type of punishment they should receive for their crime, and in this case, I find the punishment given to be unjust, not because what he did shouldn't warrant a punishment, but because of the fact that it didn't in previous cases under our standards. In response to this, and what Ivan mentioned about it as well, I am not trying to call anyone individually out for being prejudiced against jwmp. Given the situation, and the fact that jwmp was criticizing admins, I find that it would be easy for a prejudice against jwmp to exist. No offense to zekurt but honestly I saw the "fuck you" as an unnecessary comment that may have come from that prejudice. The "things he did to warrant a permban" are very closely tied to him complaining about admins, and that is why I mentioned rule 4j in my first post, and why I thought a prejudice might exist. Also, the fact still remains that this forum sanction request was open for only about a day and the decision is based off of 3 seniors, 2 leaving no reason.
