It's not really a good thing when there's hostility & aggressiveness towards people that are literally just trying to provide advice to help the server. Would you rather put your head in the sand and not improve just for an epic libtard one-liner own against someone who is literally trying to help you or would you rather improve and take the advice of other people? So many problems can be avoided by actually *listening to people*. If the people in charge of system administration right now admit that they don't want to be doing that job because of a lack of experience, why not just ask somebody else for help? There isn't a vacuum of talent here; there are plenty of people here that can help but I'm sure as hell they won't want to if no attempt at reaching out other than "fuck off, we're working on it" is being made. Seth This is where some basic communication would be useful. Are we just going to put our heads in the sand until the player base decreases or are we going to make improvements based on the advice of others that are trying to assist the server? It's absolutely not a good thing that problems like this are continuing to occur. Okay here's the thing that rattles my cage: people jumping to conclusions that the host is complete dog shit despite us not having almost no issues with 1.14. With any new thing like a game update it should be expected to have stability issues until I iron them out. If people would simply just look at that crash log you can find easily what the server hanged on. Some plugins are still not updated, while yes Robin could of waited, it really was runnable and everyone was pushing for 1.15. It's a small update. The only things they did was fix bugs and add bees. It wasn't like other updates like 1.13. TL;DR: Stop jumping the "shit host train" every single time a small amount of instability happens, especially when we just have a version update. The server was stable in 1.14. The "hostility" is from people getting fed up with people instantly blaming the host. If you look at this thread and several others like it posted within the last few months, you would notice that the host is not even a majority of the complaints that are being given. Your argument that the problems with the server are not as a result of the host and instead as a result of the way that we use the server is well taken, this is something that we have been stating ourselves. The point is that you should be providing some communication indicating that you have a plan to address instability, which is absolutely not a 1.15-specific thing as stability has been a problem for months, you cannot argue against this after the 500 threads that have been posted on this before this 1.15 update which is a very recent thing. You shouldn't update the server when it is "runnable", I can take a shit in my CD drive and run it, we should have a quality assurance & deployment system which makes absolutely sure that when we configure & update the server, it is done so automatically with backups under circumstances in which it was totally tested to be stable.
