We should change it instead of a perm ban to a very long ban for example 1 year. After being perm banned for almost 1 year I've changed and hopefully being released soon. but given that long time I've changed. I'm alot nicer, more mature and I'm smarter. So why not just give them a really long ban instead of a permanent one so they can change and reflect. when they get the chance to come back they will hopefully have changed there ways. I know this is not gonna change but i just thought it would be a nice concept to try out.
(I just realized there is Virtual Private Networks and they can just bypass it lol)

We had a suggestion posted by me implemented months ago which changed the way permbans work, but I don't know how much that has been in effect. Basically the idea was that we would treat permbans as permbans, no second, third, and fourth chances. It did however envision permban list purges as we used to have years ago which were pretty effective, but I don't think that has went into effect.

if we did not give perm bans second chances we would not have perm ban appeals

then it wouldn't be a permanent ban, i really don't see the point of making them 1 year bans other than so you can be unbanned, if you want to be unbanned you can apply for release

I'm like 93% I'm gonna be unbanned. Anyways it's not about me if someone were to appeal for a unban and they get denied they stay out forever. with one year bans if they appeal and don't get accepted they'll just wait the wait until they get unbanned so its not forever. If they come back 1 year later and they cant join how are you gonna know if they changed?
