What the hell do you need 3 monitors for. Also. Fuck that, go get Windows 7. Yeah, they don't make security updates anymore, but fuck it, I'll take that risk to not have that waste of time called Windows 10. Not sure how well the hardware compatibility would work. I ran Windows 7 for six months (downgraded from 10). It's really not worth it. I upgraded my RAM, and got BSoD's. Never had one on 10, and I got them much more frequently on 7. Upgraded back to 10 Enterprise LTSC. Better hardware compatibility, plus a fuckton a features that I ended up missing. You seriously can't scroll on a window that is inactive on Windows 7. Fuck, you're right. You just reminded me that i purposely downgraded just so it would be compatible. My point still stands though, I run damn near anything at 60+ maxed out and my hardware is compatible with Win7. Anything being games like GTA V, Battlefield 1 and Doom. The software you get stuck with for getting marginally better hardware isn't worth the investment. Remember, how often are you demanding 100% of your hardware? I'd rather have that silky smooth UI over needing 144+ FPS for a single video game.

I really missed that Windows 7 only took up 1 gig of RAM to run. Now Windows takes 2-2.5 gigs. Really missed the UI, and Classic Shell doesn't really work. If the hardware is compatible with 7, Microsoft will give 7 updates till 2023 if you pay, but as steven said, someone will pirate them for free. 10 has DirectX 12, so games run better (plus the added support) so its up to fionn

Not that I would know since I almost never update anyways. Every time something updates, something major breaks somewhere else and I have no way to explain it. Maybe i was thinking of Vista, which in all honesty should have stopped receiving updates in December 2006

imagine having a gaming motherboard curious now if there's actually a difference between a regular and gaming motherboard lol Gaming motherboards have features like better overclocking support, more PCIe slots, etc. You can get all things a gaming motherboard offers with a regular motherboard, but if you mainly want to use the computer for gaming, why not get a motherboard that certainly supports everything you might want to do with it instead of hoping the regular motherboard you chose does?

I would suggest getting an aftermarket cooler, because if you do, you can easily overclock the Ryzen 5 2600 to 4 GHz (or higher if you get a good chip).

Hey dude I'm just saying if you go on eBay and search up Windows 10 pro you can get a key for 3$, I have one and it currently hasn't given me any problems (over a year of use) I concur with this lmao. It's technically an OEM key but i've moved hard drives and motherboards and it seems to have been fine moving over lmao.

More importantly, it supports Vulkan/OpenGL which is better regardless. When you consider that fact, Windows 10 will actually run games worse due to the updated DWM which causes input lag among other things such as blue screens and graphics failures, but hey glad we really needed the DWM so that Windows can look really cool and hip! Oh wait, nobody likes the Metro interface, and everybody preferred Windows XP's GDI which used fucking software acceleration. The point of the DWM was to support Aero, except they ended up stripping out Aero. In Windows Vista/7, if you wanted to use a Windows XP theme port you could because the system didn't depend on the DWM and the GDI was still easily usable. There's nothing I despise more than the common premise spread by the media that system updates are oh so fucking vital. For one thing, I guarantee that at least 60% of Windows users despise automatic updates, and would never update the operating system regardless if it was shut off by default, and that would be a good thing considering Microsoft no longer cares about quality assurance. Every minor or major Windows 10 update will lead to one of the millions of things the operating system manages to fail. As for security updates, they're security theater because the actual security threats in Windows are the ones that are deliberately left there. Remember WannaCry? That was caused by a tool that the U.S. government had against Windows, which of course got into the hands of people with malicious intent. Microsoft and the U.S. government make sure that Windows is vulnerable to their tools, and that leaves you vulnerable no matter how updated your Windows 10 is if their tools get leaked. At the end of the day, you're fine to use Windows 7 without the updates, there will be no pixie that comes out and infects the OS with spooky viruses.

Never has interrupted my work. I installed the October 2018 update on day one on both of my PC's and didn't lose my files. I do mind the bloatware. That's why I run enterprise LTSC now. That strips a lot of useless windows components which makes stuff a lot easier
