WannaCry malware uses a bug in unpatched systems to encrypt your computer if your on windows xp-10 go and check for updates now (Yea they did patch windows xp because it's vulnerable to the attack)

The patch for the exploit was released two months ago. It's extremely likely that it was already automatically installed. The ransomware is spreading quickly through companies because they tend to stay behind with updates.

most of my systems are unpatched also a lot of people use windows 7 which mostly has the auto update off

First of all, cryptolocker hasn't existed for years Second, this is the third thread in a day on this Third, this isn't an 'exploit', it's a feature within Windows and will always be a problem when people are dumb enough to run every .exe that they receive in an email as administrator (although you can thank the CIA for the leaked UAC bypass exploits within the win32 api)

first this isn't cryptolocker that died like 2 years ago second first when I posted this third explain that to NHS and not to run windows xp fourth I thought from what I heard it was a network thing but I guess that was wrong
