This replaces the previous policy that was dated Aug 2014 and there are changes - please review; any questions, please reply.
All admins are authorized to handle a griefer report and open griefer reports should be handled as quickly as possible. There are 3 resolutions for a griefer report:
1. You believe the griefer report is valid based on evidence or credibility of the OP making the report (even without absolute evidence, benefit of the doubt should be given to the person making the effort to file a report):
a. If the violation was a perm ban offense (Section 1 of the conduct policy), glist ban or gtfo the offender and submit for perm ban if there is evidence. If the offender has a forum account, PM or tag them to reply to the report.
b. If the violation was a day ban offense (Section 2 of the conduct policy), glist ban or gtfo the offender. If you recognize the offender as a serial offender, submit for perm ban if evidence available. If the offender has a forum account, PM or tag them to reply to the report.
c. If the violation was multiple violations of Section 3 of the conduct policy, glist ban or gtfo the offender. If you recognize the offender as a serial offender, they should be submitted for perm ban. The reason for the stronger penalty is to send the message that griefing when no admins are on the server will be dealt with more harshly. The goal is to ensure the server remains operational and trouble free even when admins aren't on. If the offender has a forum account, PM or tag them to reply to the report.
d. If the violation was a single violation of Section 3 of the conduct policy and the offender is online, do an administrative control action (e.g. smite, tban). If the offender is offline and they have a forum account, PM or tag them to reply to the report. If the offender is offline and has no forum account, you can choose to do nothing or glist ban depending on the circumstance and your best judgement.
Note: Once you take any of the actions above, reply that you have done an action so that other admins know they don't need to do anything.
2. You believe the griefer report is invalid (e.g. not an offense per the banning protocols) or the evidence indicates that the griefer report is not accurate: No action is to be taken but reply to the reporter that the griefer report is invalid and why. If another admin already did it, no need to repeat.
3. If you believe that a report is a false accusation to get an innocent person banned, flag the post for moderator/owner review -- making a false accusation is a serious offense that can result in a forum & server ban.
