Heinz is way too sweet for a ketchup that's the point, having ketchup with items such as chips. they make these overly sweet or overly salty because it's used as a condiment - you don't chug it down I agree in most cases, but a condiment doesn't necessarily have to be potent. Many would be far worse off in an extreme savory/sweetness because they're applied so heavily to the base food.

Mild mustard and ridiculously strong mustard are both sold.
