Let's not even mention "joke" bans, which are still saved to the record so even if it was a joke. But let's be honest, if it was a joke ban then the admin would not vouch for a permban req on the player

And not to mention that admins can make mistakes when punishing a player so using punishment logs as your only evidence is not good enough. Let's not even mention "joke" bans, which are still saved to the record so even if it was a joke. joke smites and stuff too, two or three of mine are jokes

Let's not even mention "joke" bans, which are still saved to the record so even if it was a joke. I would argue that depending on the case, the punishment logs should be sufficient. We should not be expecting our admins to screenshot every ban they give out, that's what the punishment log is for. If you have that many bans on record AND a bunch of admins are confirming they've seen you consistently break the rules, surely thats enough. Still should be enough evidence that can be used as part of the process. I think the history of punishments of any player should be taken into account as part of it, you would notice clear trends, but ultimately there needs to be enough evidence to actually back that up that can be viewed by all and analyzed by all, be that logs screen shots videos or whatever. It should also really be in a format that wont' expire or anything, so if they appeal it in the future we can evaluate against the evidence that got them permbanned in the first place.

What does a screenshot of me banning someone add to the evidence list if that specific ban is literally in the punishment log?

You should be screenshotting / capturing the reason why you banned them, especially if you're putting together a case for permanent ban...

The reasons are on the ban log, the perm ban offense (in this case that im arguing, serial griefer/troll) is listed in the perm ban request. In this case, surely the fact they amount a vast amount of punishment is proof in itself.

You're not actually proving wrong-doing...

I personally encourage the use of Replay Mod to capture your sessions on the server. The mod implements the Minecraft equivalent of Doom or Quake demo functionalities, and as a result saves massive amounts of disk space and downloading time in comparison to using screen recording software like OBS. was it updated to 1.15?

That's like saying you wouldn't know if the player did anything wrong unless you were there when they got banned, it goes against the purpose of the punishment log.

Well can you prove someone did something wrong based off of a punishment log? I certainly couldn't unless I'd been the one to witness the ban...

There is a ban reason, and if it's consistent it proves a pattern.
