Purpose: Laptop needed for everyday usage at university. Laptop will travel with me from class to class (10+ miles each day, biking) so preference towards light and durable. Budget: 500-700 dollars Requirements: - 802.11 A/C
- Lightweight and small, pref from 14 to 15.9 inch display
- Windows compatible (no Chromebooks)
Ideal: - i5-7xxx or above
- DDR3, 8 GB of RAM (if less, be up-gradable)
- Costco.com, SamsClub.com, Amazon.com preference
- Had good experience with HP, but very low on ideals

Most universities have a special deal where you can get an excellent laptop at a huge discount. Did you check if there is one at yours?

If you can find a deal on a microsoft surface, try and go for that. If not; try a Dell XPS. If you can find a deal on a Lenovo Carbon X1, that would also work (it has better peformance at the cost of the bezels, as it has alot of ports, .) Some things about the Lenovo Carbon X1: - Tab to close the camera (for those FBI skeptics out there) - Eh-ish camera quality. Do not buy a Lenovo Carbon X1 if it is regular price. Also i'm pretty sure you can dualboot Windows on macbooks* and chromebooks. * = I have a macbook, and yes you can dualboot windows or delete macos as a whole using Bootcamp.
