Hello, since I had some spare time, I decided to make this thread to help OPs learn how to get Admin and give them some tips.
So, you want to become an admin on Total Freedom? Excellent, let's get you started.
First off, Follow The Server Rules and Conduct Policy! You have to learn how to follow it and memorise the offences based on sections and memorise the punishments, here is a quick-tip.
Section 1) Perm Bannable.
Section 2) Day Bannable.
Section 3) Administrative Actions
Section 4) Allowed under certain circumstances
Try to memorise the offences under these sections.
As we all know, Super Administrator is pretty difficult to achieve, but to some of us, pretty easy, you need to have a positive attitude, be mature, know how to enforce the rules while still staying fun (Optional) especially removing the Griefers from the server.
Like an adventure, your road will be full of bumps, humps and punishments if you fail along the way, but do not let them pull you down, the only time you fail is when you Give Up!
Remember, Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss, you will end up among the stars!
Tips:
1) Be mature and respectful, the only way you will be regconised in the community as a good person is when you are mature and Respectful, note that being mature does not mean you can not have fun, you are still a player and there will be no consequences on having fun (Unless you break a rule).
2) Report griefers, we all know that one of the jobs of being an Administrator is to ban and remove the griefers from Total Freedom, You can use /report to report griefers and file griefer reports on the forums if no admins are on to handle it.
3) Help out, You NEED to help out, another job of an Administrator is to help the members or OPs as we call them, when they need it, this includes answering questions or Setting spawns or even simply smiting a Rule Breaker or two, Just make sure you do it correctly and report the rule-breaker accordingly.
4) Use proper English if you can, this is something I extremely despise, players can barely chat in proper English, you need to be as clear as possible so that OPs will understand what you are doing, using Proper English will help you a lot in your journey to become a Total Freedom Super Admin.
Alright! You have fufilled your time requirements to apply for Super Admin on Total Freedom as well as any other requirements such as recommendations, time to apply for Super Administrator!
You will need to use the template here: totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/15937/application-super-admin-status-carefully
Fill the questions up as properly as you can, tagging the Admins that recommended you so their recommendations with @(Username), you can find the username in their profile, afterwards, simply post your application with the answers and wait for your application result.
Tips:
1) Use proper English, as I said above, using Proper English plays a huge role in becoming a Super Admin, this will also make you look more professional in your application, which is something we are looking for in our Admin Team.
2) Do NOT lie! If you do fake any requirements, you will be instantly denied and not be allowed to apply untill one month later, so stick to the truth and you can reap your juicy fruit.
3) Follow the instructions in the admin application response instruction here: totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/15957/admin-application-response-instructions-2016
And wait for your answer, do not post your application link in the shoutbox or ask an admin to review your application ingame, it will only make you look power-hungry and not fit for Administrator.
Here comes the scary part, Admins will start voting on your application to either help you become an admin or object against you for a reason, do not fret, if you have done well ingame, admins Will vote positively or you might be TPaS'd or SPaS'd by a Telnet, Telnet Clan or Senior!
Remember, do not worry about how your application will turn out, just keep helping ingame and I believe you can and will be accepted as a Super Admin.
Tips:
Just follow the tips I put above.
Did you get TPaS'd or SPaD'd? If you did, skip this part and refer to "Picky Picker"
Wow, congratulations! You have been accepted as a Super Admin! I knew you could reach for the stars, now simply do what you have to do by moderating Total Freedom and work towards becoming a Telnet Admin!
Picky Picker
Wow, good job on being TPaD'd or SPaS'd! But here comes some trouble, Untill you reach 30 days as a Super Admin, the SPaS or TPaS can be revoked and voting will continue, do be patient, moderate Total Freedom carefully and once you have reached 30 days, Refer to "Counting The Treasure".
Tips: Stay low, don't do anything stupid and blow your TPaS or SPaS and let them down, be sure to follow the Server Rules and Conduct Policy EXACTLY or you might be back to OP in no time at all, but if you do stay as a Super Admin for 30 days after being TPaS'd or SPaS'd, you are now a full-blown Super Admin and you are ready to apply for Telnet in 26 Days or more! Have a good time as a Super Admin on Total Freedom!
If anyone has any contributions to this thread, leave them down below and I will edit them in.
Most sincerely,
Tohgamer (Nepgear).
hello! i have some free time and decided to make a thread, mainly to ops, to look over while they are filling out their admin application.
this thread will basically be covering more tips on how to become a super administrator on total freedom.
if you would like to add a tip, please say so in the comments and excuse my grammer etc because i'm on my phone.
anyways.
Some tips on how to become an admin on total freedom
First tip: Respect
if you want to become a super administrator on TF, you have to do alot. one of the main things that shows admins that your are ready for you're admin status, is respect. examples of respect to admins AND ops are listening to admins when they warn you, or if an op tells you to stop being annoying etc, then listen. another example of respect, is when you're applying. if an admin objects, you can try to change their vote by quoting them but try to be as nice as possible and don't quote every single admin that objects on you're application. this can make you seem power hungry and wanting admin.
Second tip: Helping out
when you're on the server, help out. you can help out by using /report, or report griefers or rule breakers on the forums. helping out is one of the major keys you need, to get admin. always help ops to, this will get you far in you're application and will make you have a higher chance of success.
Time Requirements
This is the reason most applicants get denied, because they did not meet the TIME requirements. Here is a post, from mark, that will help you understand the time requirements better.
from mark: In order to apply for admin, you must have a recommendation by a current Total Freedom admin plus meet time requirements. If you have a senior admin recommendation, you can apply anytime after you joined the forum, if you have a telnet admin recommendation, you can apply 30 days after you joined this forum, and if you have a super admin recommendation, you can apply 60 days after you joined this forum. If you have no recommendation, you can post a message in the General Section asking for a recommendation via PM but you may only post such a request once per month, and do not PM requests to admins asking for recommendations. If you're unable to get a recommendation, you can still join an admin crew - post a request in the crew HQ section or join an admin crew when a public invitation is made by an admin. You can also apply at any time if the owner or a senior/telnet admin directs you to apply so they can appoint you to admin under a special program - this is not the same thing as a recommendation and they will advise you of it. NOTE: If you ask an admin how to apply for admin and they tell you how, that is NOT a recommendation or a direction to apply. .

Other people in you're family that use the same account or IP?
The privileges of being an admin are assigned to both your Minecraft account name and the connection that you to access the Internet (your IP address) along with forum account confirmation. If you allow others to use your Minecraft account, forum account, or you use a public VPN, hotspot or proxy, or there are others (e.g. family members) that might use your Internet connection, you will be suspended and likely banned if your Minecraft account or IPs are used to violate server/forum conduct rules or abuse admin privileges. Excuses such as my bro or sis did it won't be accepted.
from mark.
the reason that this is important is because you're brother or sister could login to total freedom, with there account being supered, because when you get added to Super admin, you're IP will to, making anyone who uses you're wifi in your house, be admin. so make sure if you do have a bro or sis, tell us in the application and DONT lie. also if you're bro or sis wants to apply for admin, check out the family application below..
Family application (ONLY FOR AN ADMINS BROTHER OR SISTER ETC) totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/35831/family-member-admin-application
Read more requirements etc: totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/38666/admin-pre-application-checklist-jul#ixzz4JJHZUjEk
Last tip: Crews
You will have a higher chance of becoming admin if you join an admin crew.
more info: A crew member is one step above a self-appointed server helper but you must appointed by one of the Total Freedom admins. Crew members don't have any admin capabilities but they are allowed to use the "Crew" tag and assist the admin that appointed them with their duties. If you wish to join a crew and an admin has not already asked you, post a request in this Crew HQ forum category. If you're aspiring to be an admin on Total Freedom, it's highly recommended you join an admin crew and prove yourself before you apply for admin status.

End of thread: i hope you read over the tips carefully and good luck on you're application!
Okay, so you want to know how to apply for admin eh? Well, it's actually very simple, and not as hard as you think, if you follow my step by step tutorial, you'll most likely get accepted or have a very smexxy application for admins to look at and judge you from.
STEP 1: REQUIREMENTS
You have to have a valid any admin recommendation. By doing this, in-game you could try to catch an admins eye, or just help out a lot with players, and if you're lucky enough, an admin will give you one!
You have to have 3 valid griefer reports on the forum, in other words, it's saying 3 griefer reports (doesn't have to be a griefer but it has to be a rule breaker), file one at totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/6152/file-griefing-admin-abuse-report. To make one of your invalid griefer reports valid, you must have it accepted and the player banned for two weeks.
You must have the whole application completed, with all the questions answered, and you must use the template, if you haven't then it will lead to another auto deny.
You must not copy another application, or put fake information on your application, if you do, it will end up in an auto denial, and a forum ban.
Once you've reached all these requirements, follow on to the next step!
To do this, you need to copy the following questions (click the spoiler) and paste it into the following link: totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/new/2
1. Your Minecraft name and Time Zone where you normally use Minecraft (e.g. GMT+1:00 or EST). Your Minecraft name must match your forum name or your Minecraft name must be in your forum profile.
2. What date did you first join the Total Freedom forum (this forum)? (e.g. 1 Jul 2013 and please make sure you meet time requirements per Q 7 below.
3. What describes you best - choose one (student, employed or unemployed, or retired)?
4. Do have any skills such as artistic design, coding, computer security, etc? (Yes or No). If so, provide detail.
5. How often can you be on the server to perform administrative duties? State either daily, several times a week, once or twice a week, or less than once a week. We realize that school or work will rightly prevent constant service.
6. Have you read and memorized the server conduct protocols at totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/21065/server-conduct-policy-players-admins plus have you viewed and studied the training videos at totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/15475/various-admin-training-videos ? (Yes or No)
7. Names of admins that will directly appoint or recommended you - make sure they PM you the recommendation to avoid being accused of false recommendations. In order to apply for admin, you must have a recommendation by a current Total Freedom admin plus meet time requirements. If you have a senior admin recommendation, you can apply anytime after you joined the forum, if you have a telnet admin recommendation, you can apply 30 days after you joined this forum, and if you have a super admin recommendation, you can apply 60 days after you joined this forum. If you have no recommendation, you can post a message in the General Section asking for a recommendation via PM but you may only post such a request once per month, and do not send spam requests to admins asking for recommendations. NOTE: If you ask an admin how to apply for admin and they tell you how, that is NOT a recommendation or a direction to apply. .
8. Are you a member of an admin crew (yes or no) - see: www.totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/14908/admin-join-crew-first . If yes, which crew and how long have you been a member of that crew.
9. In becoming an admin and a rule enforcer, you are at increased risk of DDOS/DOX and hacking by grievers who might not appreciate you enforcing the rules. For more info about DDOS, see www.totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/4410/response-attacks-blocking-skype-resolvers and if you don't know what DDOS is, please view www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhA9PAfkJ10 and for DOX, view www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhwY7YgcQ9o. As an admin, you must be more vigilant when it comes to computer security. Ensure all your account passwords (Minecraft, Forum, Email, etc.) are strong and NEVER use the same password for any given account. Ensure your PC/Mac has been thoroughly secured and cleaned of any malware and be extremely cautious when clicking on links that you might get in email, Skype, etc. If you do get hacked, you'll be responsible to notify us and take proper security steps to overcome it. Do you accept the increased the security risks and are you prepared to maintain a high level of security to minimize your chances of being hacked?
10. Do you have a family member or friend that shares your Minecraft account or a Minecraft playing family member with their own Minecraft account who might use our server or forum? (Yes or No). If so, are they presently an admin on our server? (Yes or No)
11. Excuses such as my bro or sis did it won't be accepted; you are solely responsible to ensure the security of your accounts and Internet connections. - do you agree with this policy? (Yes or No)
12. Can you handle being an admin without it negatively affecting your school grades, your employment, your family, and your mental or physical health, etc? (Yes or No).
13. Admins are held to a higher standard of conduct than OPs, and notably includes conduct off-server as well on-server. For example, please review totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/25268/admins-griefing-servers. Do you agree to abide by these higher standards?
14. Have you ever filed a griefer report on the forum - see totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/6152/file-griefing-admin-abuse-report ? If yes, approximately how many have you filed? If none, you must file a minimum of 3 valid griefer reports before you apply and one of the reports must be at least two weeks old. This requirement does not apply to applicants that are directed to apply under special appointment programs.
Once you've copied the questions into the thread, you Name the thread (click the textbox next to subject), your name and application, for example, if I was applying i'll make it 'ItsTeeqo_'s Admin Application'. You're allowed to use color, but it's highly recommended you don't use bright colors, for as it makes it hard for admins to see. Instead use darker colors.
Once you've filed the application, and clicked the button 'Create Thread', then you'll be able to move onto the next step!
If they say 'Vouch', it means they want you to become admin.
If they say 'Neutral', they don't know.
If they say 'Object', they don't want you to become an admin.
If they say 'Rec' or 'Recommendation', they want you to become admin (vouching) and recommending you; if they recommend you, edit your application and add their name or their tag onto Question 7.
The only times you're allowed to comment on your application is when you're disagreeing with a objection, or when you've been asked a question by the admin.
Don't withdraw your application, and don't rage on your application if it gets denied or if an admin objects.
You're also allowed to edit your application.
Please be patient with your application, you're allowed to bump it once every 5 days if the application is falling, but if not, please be patient as it takes up to 2 weeks to a month for applications to be processed.
In the mean time wait, and be very helpful to your fellow staff members and be a good person!
Here are some tips for your application:
1. Don't lie. Lying will make your app denied very quickly and especially DO not line for your admin recommendations.
2. Don't comment. Only comment when you do not agree with an objection. However, do not cause spam/drama, and only state FACTS.
3. Format it nicely. I prefer applications who have a professional application with bolded questions (nothing else!). Do not use weird or bright colours as that is very distracting in my opinion.
4. Make sure you meet all the requirements. Ensure that you have 3 griefer reports, meet time requirements, and have valid admin recommendations.
Here are some tips for when you are in-game:
1. Always help other OPs. Admins are usually busy with rule-breakers, so you should answer the questions that OPs have.
2. Report rule-breakers. Find people who are griefing or have death/troll potions. This makes the admins happier as we punish rule-breakers more often.
3. Be nice. Respect others the way you want to be treated.
4. Do not break any rules. Breaking rules show that you disregard following the rules, and admins will think that you would not follow the rules for admins.
5. Be mature. Try to be mature as much as you can. You can joke around for a bit, but if you joke around all the time, then admins will find you immature.
6. Have fun and be yourself. Remember that this is a game, and you should be having fun! Don't forget to express your personality!
Good luck to all the OPs who are applying! By doing all of the above well, you will have a good chance of being accepted!
1. Don't ask admins to read your apply, it will make admins think you are power hungry.
2. Proper Grammar [EX: . , ! : "[]] .
3. Don't lie on your admin application it won't get you anywhere .
4. The way to get admins recommendations is to help out and be active.
5. Use the template and not a random template
6. Make sure you meet the time requirements
7. Do not comment on your own application
Before the application
1.Make sure you have a good standing with the admins.
2.Make sure you didn't break the rules recently
3.Make sure you are active during the little bit of time before your application
4.Make sure you have 3 valid griefer reports
5.Make sure you have at least 1 admin recommendation
6.Make sure you meet the time requirements
During the application
1.Once you have posted the application WAIT for replies
2.Make sure your application is readable/eligible
3.Do not comment on your application unless you are asked a direct question or you disagree when an admin's vote
4.When disagreeing keep it drama free
5.Get increase network and password security to avoid people from compromising you
6.Don't plagiarize or lie on the application
While the application is pending (in game)
1.Help admins however you can
2.Report as many players as you can while admins are offline(with evidence)
3.Try to be as active as possible
-Do not lie on your application.
-Be helpful in game.
-If you do not meet a requirement don't apply.
-Don't comment on your app unless disagreeing with an object for a good reason or answering a question.
-Please please please use our super admin template. The template is found here, you can also find the requirements here totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/15937/application-super-admin-status-carefully
-Join a crew, we have many selections for crews. Crew HQ is found here: totalfreedom.boards.net/board/3/crew-hq
-Be active.
-Be patient on applications and do not tell admins you applied.
-If your application is denied wait the full time until you apply again. Do not rage if it is denied, just continue to help people out. You most likely will be denied your first app.
-Read all of the other tips, these are just from me, there are a lot more of them.
Now please know these are just some tips, it does not guarantee you becoming part of our staff team.
I just wanted to give a few tips to some OPs out there on getting admin.
First of all, when you apply, don't beg admins to look at your application, we'll get to it at some point
Also, to get recommendations, simply don't ask. Do it the simple way, and be active on the server and forums, meet the requirements, and also help out on the server by pointing out people that grief to admins, report people spamming and/or griefing on the forums so us admins can get to it and ban the player or handle the report.
Meet the requirements. The requirements are to have a recommendation, and meet the time requirements. In other words, with a super admin recommendation, you have to wait 60 days on the forums. With 30 days on the forums (telnet admin recommendation), you may apply. With a senior recommendation, you can apply anytime you want to after joining the forums.
Lastly, while applying, make sure to use this template and follow and read the questions and answer them.
{1} It's easy to understand what questions you're answering if you copy and paste the template into your app.
{2} Write the answers in a different color, like dark blue or dark green. That way, it's easy to tell where the answers are.
{3} Don't say the same thing repetitively just to take up space.
{4} To tag administrators (so they can confirm their recommendations,) find their name in one of their posts or in the "Members" section. Then, hover over their nickname to get their username. If you hover over my name, IamzLuck, you get "iamaweszome" which was my old IGN. Then, put an "@" symbol before their username. If I do @ iamaweszome, without the space, I get ?ZLucky . That administrator will get a notification that he/she had been tagged, drawing his/her attention to the thread.
{5} Use proper grammar and punctuation! No one likes to see "ya meh hav fild tree grefr reprtz" It's just not professional, even if you did file three griefer reports. We need mature administrators.
{6} Most people who get recommended, apply, and get accepted are people who most administrators know for helping. If you're known for helping people all the time, your chances of getting recommended increase.
{7} Don't rage on your application. Most people who get angry at admins, saying "U DENIED MEH FOR NO RESON I HATE U" get auto-denied and sometimes forum banned. In fact, don't comment on your application at ALL unless an admin asks you a direct question. Application drama is pointless.
{8} Just because you don't get accepted one time, doesn't mean you'll never get accepted. You can apply again after you meet the time requirements.
{9} Different recommendations mean different time requirements. If you get recommended by a Super Administrator, you can apply in 2 months (60 days.) If you get recommended by a Telnet, 1 month (30 days.) However, you can apply at any time if you're recommended by a Senior Administrator.
{10} Direct appointments are when a Telnet or higher decides to just make you an administrator. TPaS is Telnet Picks a Super. SPaS is Senior Picks a Super. OPaS is Owner Picks a Super. Most Super Admins who were PaS'd put it in their signatures. Asking for direct appointments, though, is not allowed. Especially in-game.
I hope these tips helped, and I'm glad you read this because it means that becoming an administrator really matters to you!
Good luck!
Hi there! Nice to see you want to apply, but you DO need to follow the template in order for you to be considered- and you must meet these requirements, and follow these application tips:
- You must have 60 days registered on the forums with a Super Administrator recommendation.
- You must have 30 days registered on the forums with a Telnet/Telnet Clan. Administrator recommendation..
- If you get a Senior Administrator recommendation, you do not need to have a registration minimum at all. You may then just submit your application, but follow these tips I am giving you, as you will find that these tips will assist you very well in the long run.
- You must have filed 3 valid Grief Reports in order to be eligible to submit your application (To submit those reports, refer to this link to this board: totalfreedom.boards.net/board/37/griefer-reporting <- That link is the category of Griefer Reporting, and it is important that you know how to access it so that you may file any griefer reports should someone executing misconduct should show up.).
- You should be helpful, respectful, and professional here and on the server, as it gives us a good impression of you and how we think of you in terms of administrative preparedness.
- You must follow the template on Applications, as your application will automatically be denied if you fail to use the template. (The template is found at the bottom of the page.)
- If you ever meet the requirements and for submitting the application and you do submit it, the application process is a quiet one. You must not comment on your application unless asked a Direct Question (Meaning someone asks you a question. If you ever need to talk to an administrator, one is always available to PM!
- Don't whine on applications- whining gets you nowhere, and it can lead to an administrator leaving an Objection for this reason.
- If you feel an administrator made a mistake on their vote on your application, PM the owner asking if you can quote them to answer them, and why you feel their vote was invalid on your application.
- Help out in-game, and help out other OPs and administrators. This improves your chances of an administrator recommending you and thus getting another vouch + rec if you already have achieved one.
- Make the application look good; don't copy and paste EVERYTHING (i.e. copying the note above and below the application template), that just makes the application look "dirty". An example of how to set up an application, just bold and italic the questions (Like so) and italic and change the color of your answers (Like so), or you could even just change the color of the answers and not use the italics at all (Like so). The Questions, you could even just bold them (Like so). There are many possibilities, but choose the possibility that is the best for you. It makes your application look very professional, and that thus improves the chances of a vouch,or even a recommendation possibly.
- Never, and I mean NEVER put different colors for every question and answer. Just use one color for the responses and questions. (Different color for both, don't use the same color for the answers AND questions, or the administrators will have difficulty reading your answers.) That looks very immature and makes you look bad, like a noob.
- Never use underline in answers or questions, as that looks VERY immature. This is self-explanatory. (This looks immature, doesn't it?)
- Make the answers lengthy. Any length beyond at least two to four sentences is very acceptable. Administrators like to see that you've taken time to make the application, and an administrator might have a keen eye and point that out on the application.
- Answer every question carefully. These questions partake in the weight-holding of the application, if you'll either be vouched, given a neutral, or left an objection upon. Take a good amount of time on them.
- Don't rush your application. (Meaning, don't give two word answers and just copy everything. Take time to answer everything and read the questions very carefully.)
- Don't like all of the vouches, or any other votes on an application. I've seen this before, and it does look immature. Like a post only if you see it describes you the best, like a vouch with a very long reason.
- Use the Objections that have reasons as tools for making room for improvement. The Objections are there to HELP, not bring you down. If you use the Objections as improvement methods correctly, the administrator that objected in the first place might change their decision and vouch in the near and possible future.
- When applying, always listen to what the administrators are saying- don't be a nuisance to the administrators, or your vouch/vouch + rec could easily turn to an Objection or a Neutral. Just stay quiet, and let the application flow.
If you follow these tips, you should get approved!
Many of you have been getting denied for obvious reasons. Please follow these tips as they are very important!
1) Use the template!- Many of you people have been forgetting to use the template! It is the easiest step! The template can be found here
2) Don't lie! - This is also an easy step! Don't lie on your application. Lying may be obviously detected, so be careful!
3) Don't blackmail / rage on your application! - Don't blackmail / rage on your application! This means if an administrator objects on your application, do not rage at them and blackmail them! For Example, "Since you objected, I'm going to suspend and ban you from every server!". Don't do this!
4) Respect! - Many of you have forgotten respect. Respect is the most easiest thing to do! If an admin Objects on your application, just go with it! Don't rage at them! Remember, if an admin objects on your application, it doesn't mean they hate you! Remember this!
5) Be quiet while your application is pending! - Some of you are forgetting to be quiet while your application is pending! Do not comment on your application unless you have a problem with an objection, or asked a direct question by a super administrator +!
6) Don't spam your application! - Just because of getting denied, people spam their applications! Do not do this! All it does is get you forum banned! This is one of the most easiest tips to do!
7) 3 Grief Reports! - Many of you are getting automatically denied because you do not have 3 griefer reports! This is all you need to do, as it is very important as a new rule of applications! Do not forget any of these! They are very easy to memorize, and if you do these steps, I'm sure you'll do good and get approved!
8) Don't be a serial troll / griefer in-game! - This is very easy! Just help out, file 3 griefer reports, and I'm sure you'll get approved! Try your best to get as much recommendations as you can!
9) The Last One - Don't ask for recommendations! - This is very easy! Don't ask for recommendations, earn them! You can earn recommendations by filing reports of rule breakers, and helping out the administrators! Please do not ask for them. Earn them! Again, this is a very easy tip / step.
These are some great tips you can follow to achieve administrator! Most of them are very easy, and also very easy to memorize! I hope these tips help you, and if they don't, make sure to follow other tips! Thanks for reading these tips! Be sure to memorize them all before you apply! Please follow them as they are very important steps / tips. If you follow all these tips, I bet you that you'll get approved!
Though I am now a Telnet Admin, you may very well think that this accomplishment was easy for me and that every application I made was accepted. Well, if you thought that then your most definitely wrong. I had to make three applications before I finally got accepted due to a TPaS. You may think that you achieving even Super Admin would never ever happen. Well, you can make it happen. I use to be a nuisance to this server, and now I try to exhibit a strong range of professionalism and a good, strong mind which I hope benefits not just the Staff Team but the OPs to. Anything is possible. You can be a Super Admin and maybe even higher if you really want to. Because if you do really want to, then you will really try to do the best you can.
Please consider the following before you post a admin application:
1. Use the proper template.
2. Make sure you have at least 1 recommendation from a super admin or +.
3. Make you application clear and neat.
4. Unless asked a direct question, do not comment on your application.
5. Do not copy other applications.
6. Make sure you have meet the time requirements.
Also, make sure you post your application in the proper board.
Good luck applicants!
Would you like to be a TotalFreedom Admin? Well these advice tips may help you.
To gain trust, you first need admin recommendations, here's ways of getting admin recs:
#1: Help out on the server.
Help out on the server, this means you can fix griefs, help players, always answer questions if someone has a question, and if someone has a question how to get admin you explain to them how to get admin for example say "If your interested in admin do /ai".
#2: Always report someone that breaks a rule.
You see someone break a rule? There's two options you can do here, either submit a report in the "Grief Reports" section in this forum or tell a admin in-game, if you submit a report on the forums then the best way to get proof is by screenshot, TotalFreedom has their own screenshot software called Screenshottr.
#3: Do not ask for admin recommendations.
First off, don't remind admins to recommend you or ask them, asking for recs will weaken your chances of getting admin recommendations anyway, do not ask for a TPAS/SPAS, admins always remember what they are so don't think admins forget and will never recommend you, help out a lot and you'll soon end up with lots of admin recommendations, and some admins would even reply "Vouch + Rec" if your extremely helpful.
#4: Join an admin crew.
Joining a admin crew means you are a admin's helper, this will increase your chances of being admin, this is like training because joining a admin crew will help you before you become admin, admins may also need help as well, therefore your a member of their crew.
When applying follow these application rules:
#5: Wait 90 days or have a telnet or senior recommend you and wait 60 days on the forum.
You MUST have a 90 days forum account if your going to apply for admin and you don't have any super telnet or senior admins recommend you. Otherwise your app is more likely to be auto-denied. If you have a super admin recommendation then you must still wait 90 days forum account, do not try say you registered a year ago because out admins can find out the date you registered on this forum so have a 90 days forum account.
#6: Use the template.
This is quite simple, use the template, if you do not use the template then your admin application is auto-denied. The template can be found Here.
#7: Do not lie on your admin application.
Do not lie on your admin application, lying wont get you anywhere, lying wont even get you admin, lying can include false admin recommendations, if a admin tells you how to apply for admin, that doesn't mean they recommended you. Do not lie about the date you registered on because we can find out. Lying on admin applications can result in forum bans or forum sanctions so don't do it.
#8: Be quite during and about your application proceeding.
Do not talk about your admin application, just be quite about your application, do not bump your admin application, do not comment on your application unless asked a direct question, because that just shows your after power, and do not post in the shoutbox "Plz read my app" and just because you apply, doesn't mean you'll get it, so don't say "When am I admin?" because you might not be approved when you say that. It can usually take over 2 weeks or over a month for a admin application to proceed to judging. Admins are reading applications all the time so DO NOT PM STAFF.
#9: Don't rush your application. Keep your application professional.
Why would you be in a hurry? Do not rush your admin app, when the admins read it we can tell it's obviously been rushed because of the spelling and no template if didn't use the template. Make your admin app professional, if your application looks very professional that also gives you a better chance being approved. Do not use annoying colours as it's hard to read, especially no bright colours (e.g. Yellow).
#10: Read the command knowledge.
Did you really read everything listed under this question? Do not rush-reading the command help, this is a important guide as admin commands are not our default bukkit commands, if you become admin you may ask what command to ban someone.
I have come to notice that many people have been applying and getting denied for various reasons. This should help you avoid many common mistakes made when you apply.
1. Proper grammar and spelling
This is a very vital key to becoming admin. If you do not have good grammar, you seem un-professional. Admins are supposed to be as professional as they can be. You should not speak the way you would in a text. (Example: Omg, ur signature is totes awesome)
2. Maturity
Let's face it, if you aren't mature, you won't be accepted. Cracking jokes and being on the forums to just mess around will lower your chances. Be mature, and if possible, don't swear. Make sure that you do not violate forum rules so that you keep a good reputation.
3. Activity
Like the others, this is a must-have. You must stand out and help. Being in-active will get admins to comment, "I have never seen you online, object." If you are wanting to get promoted past super-admin, you will need to be online for about 1-2 hours a day. If you cannot be online for at least 1 hour a day, applying is not worth it. Also, you will want to be able to play every-day. If you have a rule at your house that only allows you to play on the weekends, you should not apply.
4. Being Helpful
Being helpful is your job as a super-admin. Making reports and helping admins should be like a chore. Examples of helping admins are: telling online admins about grief, building a new spawn, keeping a light mood, and suggesting ideas here on the forums. What we do not like to see is a kiss-up (Example: You are the coolest person ever, I wish I was an admin like you). We also do not appreciate mini-modding. (Example: A player is spamming and you tell them to stop after an admin has warned them)
5. Membership and Recommendation
This is by far the most commonly messed up part of an application. People forget to read the rest of the template notes, and end up applying as soon as they register. The template clearly states, "You must have 90 days of membership on the forums, you must then obtain a recommendation from another admin." There are ways to bypass the membership requirement, but in most cases, you will need to wait. Admins will reward you with a recommendation if they see you being helpful and active. By all means, never ask an admin for a rec. It will get them to object on your future application.
6. Honesty
Some people make the major mistake of lying on their applications. This will never get you anywhere. All admin are required to confirm their recommendations. Lying about your membership time is also easy to figure out. Any member of the forums can simply go to your profile and see the date you registered. Any form of lying will get your application instantly denied, and there are no exceptions.
7. Responsibility
There are many risks involved in becoming an admin. One of them is DDoS and DoX. It is when packets are sent from another computer to yours. It lags your internet until it crashes. This is done in rage, sometimes from OPs, sometimes from rogue admins. In order to apply for admin, you must accept the risk of DDoS and DoX, while also holding TF harmless. Another responsibility is your IP. If someone else logs in on your IP, they will be supered with the same rank as you. You are held completely responsible for all activity on your IP. A lot of people that apply suffer from grades. In this case, you should not apply, but rather study. Homework and class ALWAYS comes before TF. If you are feeling the temptation of getting online instead of doing homework, you can PM markbyron. You can ask him to perm-ban you until your grades come up. There is currently an admin doing this, so do not feel afraid to ask.
If you do not feel like you can meet these standards, you should not apply. It would not be worth your time. If you cannot meet the requirements, it is usually not worth out time either.
Okay, I myself am NOT a good SA application maker. However, I was looking through a few of them and decided to briefly explain what seems to help just by BEHAVIOUR and FORMAT of an admin application.
Tip #1
DON'T lie on the application, especially when talking about times you have been banned and when you have joined the forums. I know from owning my own server and all to see whether they have been banned or not. So no, just, no.
DO wait the 30 days, and be HONEST on your application on when you joined and if you have been banned or not. Again, it is VERY easy to find out little fibbers.
Tip #2
DON'T comment on your application, it is pretty much is telling admins that you are trying to convince them because you want the power, and to not actually help. You are allowed to comment if given a direct question.
DO be quiet and do not comment on your application, remember to be extra patient, applying and letting the application go through the judging process can take a little while.
Tip #3
DON'T ragemail admins if they object, they will most likely tell EnderLolzeh, and your application WILL be auto-denied, and, if REALLY bad, you will have a forums ban, so just don't ragemail in general.
DO do what you are supposed to do and PM EnderLolzeh for any problems of this sorts, again, sending ragemail to the admins (and Enderlolzeh, for that matter) is a bad idea in general.
Tip #4
DON'T be a jerk on the server to admins at ANYTIME!!!! Being nice and helpful from the start can get you a long way.
DO offer to help, and ALWAYS be helpful, from the start to the end!
You may think when we ask this question on the admin application template:
In becoming an admin and a rule enforcer, you are at increased risk of DDOS/DOX by griefers/hackers who might not appreciate you enforcing the rules. Do you accept this risk? For more info about DDOS, see www.totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/4410/response-attacks-blocking-skype-resolvers and if you don't know what DDOS is, please view www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhA9PAfkJ10 and for DOX, view www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhwY7YgcQ9o
You may think, "Oh it won't happen to me!"... Well guess what, it does happen it happened to me before and it can happen to you and let me tell you i didn't think it would happen to me either but... it did! So remember to take this risk into consideration.
